Languages ..... a twist in da tale

Yesterday i was talkin wid my Uncle about his experiences of da days spent by him in
Austria. In da last month he had been on Executive trip to Austria. He jus tol me abt his conversation wid da taxi driver. Dat guy was talkin abt how his country was gr8 ... n was tellin dat ne guy in Austria knows a minimum of 2 languages. Given this piece of information my Uncle sprung into action. He is a true to da core "Desh Bhakt" n he proved it by simply demoralising da poor Taxi driver. He tol da driver dat 2 languages is nuthin ..... even a school goin boy of arnd 10 yrs of age in Mumbai can speak 4 to 5 languages.

Yes he said ... Suppose a Malyalee guy is married to a Gujrathi lady, da kid goes to English medium school n has Marathi n Hindi as his secondary subjects in class. So da average kid knows arnd 5 languages. Apart frm my Uncles boasting powers this talk had jus put me into a positive frame of mind. So i jus decided to chk upon my Language Qotient.

So here goes ..... I m a Goan so i can converse in Konkani, ... I stay in Maharshtra so Marathi is compulsory (else da sainiks will come running for me), .... I m a proud Indian so da Rashtra Bhasha Hindi is a must, .... as a Mumbaite Gujrathi comes as a default, .... todays new Music culture has made da youth quite familiar wid Punjabi, .... thnz to my new frens i can even speak 1 or 2 word frm Kannada n Tamil, ..... Dats a lot of Boastin. Lets continue n go to da foreign languages. Well i cant talk much in this one ... Yes I can give a Bad Word in French & greet ppl in German.

Jus a thought provoking subject, but yes some day i wanna knw a lot more frm each of these languages. Some day ......
